My three little Monsters

On October 30, 2013, we made some spooky food since John had to work and big sis had a party on Halloween.  Big sister was in charge of dinner. She made mummy hot dogs, ghost bananas, orange slices, veggies, and ranch dip.  For dessert, we bought a pumpkin and cheese cake roll and made witch hats out of cookies, kisses, and clear frosting from a tube. During that same evening, John made a killer spicy hot chili for his work contest! In fact, he won first place in the chili contest and received $50 dollars for his prize, woohoo! As for our Halloween costumes, John and I were super Dad and Mom, big sister was the famous classy Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast and Tiffany's, little sis was cute bat, and little brother was an awesome skeleton.  We either bought things from the Dollar Store or thrift stores. Some things were hand me downs from a friend. The kids and I went trick or treating at my husband's work instead of walking around the neighborhoods.  They got plenty of candy from John's work and corn dogs from Sonic! Little sister, little brother, and I watched some Halloween movies after trick or treating!  What fun Halloween memories we made this year!

John and I basically wore clothes from our closets expect for my blue tutu was homemade.  For our accessories, we used things around the house such as belts, diapers, pacifiers, receiving blankets (capes), and made a holster out of foam for the bottles (just stapled it together) !  We bought the bottles, glasses, and foam paper from the dollar store. We got the super hero printables from Super Dad and Super Mom and paste them on the foam material.

The pretty Audrey Hepburn costume included the following: an elegant black dress with fake diamonds, black heels, and gloves were from a thrift shop.  She borrowed the earrings, and necklaces from me. Her hair and make were done by her friend.
As for the bat girl costume, it was all homemade by my friend who no longer needed it. It included the following  bat wings, ears (hat), and eye mask. Her black nails, hair, and make up was done by me. She wore a black shirt, sweats, witch headband from a thrift store, and carried a bouncy bat decoration toy.
Lastly, little brother wore a skeleton outfit for his first Halloween costume, which was given to us by a friend. We bought a black winter hat and sock shoes from Old Navy.

Mother and Daughter Girls Night!

Last month during May, little sis and I had a lovely girls night together. It is a rare occasion for just the two of us to do something fun together without big sis or daddy tagging along.  We decided to go to the local mall since she had some birthday money.  Our first stop was at Payless Shoes!  We both bought some darling sandals.  I got some black ones then picked up some fun bohemian styled from Famous Footwear.  Little sis of course had to break the new white sandals in while shopping!
Next, I bought some clothes at DownEast Basics and Papaypa, jewelry at Icing (Clairs) which are my favorite stores.
Then we went to Build a Bear!  Little Sister had a blast picking out the perfect rainbow teddy bear, pink clothes, and pink accessories (sunglasses, bag and flowers)!  Afterwards, we stopped near Macy's to eat a snack and make wishes in the water fountain.  Little Sis threw in ten pennies!
Lastly, she and I checked out the game store and then she played at the indoor park in the mall.  We were very exhausted from shopping and walking around!

Happy May Memories 2012

Lately I've enjoyed the perfect spring weather! Oh, how I love smelling blossoms while jogging, and seeing the beautiful flowers and trees!  During the month of May, we went hiking, celebrated Mother's Day, big sis got braces, and little sis participated in a school dance festival.

After the kids were dropped off to school a couple weeks ago, John and I went hiking up Grovecreek trail.  We saw many wild flowers, butterflies, and a humming bird.  It was partly sunny on the way up the trail, but within an hour it got extremely dark and cloudy.  It started to rain a few minutes after we were safely in the car.
On Mother's Day, I wore a fun bohemian styled outfit and sandals. My family spoiled me by making me breakfast (waffles, eggs, and bacon) and dinner (shrimp and chicken Alfredo)!  I got some lovely flowers (yellow, white, and purple) to hang near the back porch. John spoke in church about mothers and I got a king size bar of chocolate from the ward, which I shared with everyone!
Big Sis got her top braces on!  She looks very pretty and happy in this picture!
Little Sis had a dance festival.  The third grade performed to the song Summer Belongs to You from the cartoon Phineas and Ferb.
We are looking forward to fun SUMMER adventures!  Hopefully I can knock out some things from last years summer bucket list that I didn't get to accomplish.  May was simply marvelous!

Fall Family Photographs

On November 4,2011, our sweet talented friend Mindi Youngblood took our family photos in Lehi, Utah.  Even though it was cloudy and cold, we had a lot of fun doing our photo shoot! I decided to do a navy blue and mustard yellow theme! We are stepping out of our comfort zones by wearing the color mustard but it was sure fun shopping for our clothes and accessories!  For our photo shoot backgrounds, Mindi picked an industrial area that offered many textured backgrounds such as an old red brick building, rusty metal warehouse, a red wooden building, tall yellow grass, cobblestone wall, fall leaves, and railroad tracks.  It was a perfect place to snap photographs!  In fact, there were a few other photographers shooting pictures at the same area.

My Top Fashion Models

"Fashion fades - style is eternal." ~ Yves Saint Laurent Let's talk glam! I gotta share how posh my girls dress themselves! I am impressed how they pick out their clothes and strut their stuff on their way out the door! Everyday is a fashion show for my girls and the world is their runway. I collected some of my girl's favorite Summer/Fall 2010 Fashion Couture!

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." ---Coco Chanel Spotted wearing at church "hand me downs" and garage sale couture! Big diva was wearing a brown camisole, pink sweater top, a flower print skirt, and brown low high heels. Little diva was wearing a pink shirt, brown skirt with flower stitching, and tippy toed feet missing some flat ballet shoes.

On the way out the door to a friend's house, she was found wearing a white t-shirt and a hot pink camisole, a light pink headband, pink flower hair clip, pink earrings, not seen skinny jeans, and gray converse slip on shoes (non-laced).

After showering, I found her wearing a robe, elephant slippers, and a towel wrapped around her head! "Happiness is the secret to all beauty. There is no beauty that is attractive without happiness." Christian Dior

Spotted near a monster truck wearing a pale pink tutu skirt, white t-shirt, white leggings, and black high top converse shoes. Her hair was done in two braids with black ribbons tied at the ends.

Attended church wearing a white camisole, green dress, white leggings, and a white flower hair clip as her accessory. Her friend Kylie crimped her hair to achieve the wavy look. "The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize." ~ Robert Harling

A totally rad back to school chic look! She is wearing a pink and black backpack, a blue and black ruffled skirt, skinny jeans, white socks, black flats, and matching hair flower clip.

It's all about the layers!!! Found on the way out the door to the bus stop wearing a white camisole, white t-shirt, pink buttoned sweater vest, tight fittin' jeans, black flat shoes, a blue charm bracelet, a black hair barrette, earrings, and blue peace school tot bag.

Hair styled in wavy pig tails which was the "after effects" of having braids the previous day and wearing a casual gray and blue hoodie jacket on a cool fall day.

Denim Doll and All Dolled Up was found at church wearing a white shirt, cream camisole, denim jacket with matching skirt, and a light blue flower hair clip. All Dolled Up is wearing a pink ruffled skirt, white shirt, and a pink bling bling flower hair clip!

A Closer look at All Dolled Up before church. She had a pink heart necklace on and white flat shoes on.

If you can't dress weird, why dress at all? Found during red ribbon week on crazy hair day wearing pipe cleaners in hair!

On her way out to church wearing a gray glitter hair clip, gray shirt, black sweater cardigan, white skirt, fuzzy argyle socks, ankle black boots, a gray and black necklace/earring set, and white purse for her scripture bag!

Went to church wearing a pink hair flower clip, a pink undershirt, blue sweater cardigan, white skirt, stripped multi-colored tights, and brown shoes!

Can you say these girls have glamorous fashion style?!?! "Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play it safers the creatures of the common place the slaves of the ordinary." Cecil Beaton
